The Waldorf School of Garden City sixth-grade class is in the news at The Garden City News for raising $1,100 for charity during their business math block.

Waldorf sixth grade students put their math lessons to practical use learning about entrepreneurship alongside decimals, percentages, interest, taxes and profit alongside other math skills. They then typically develop their own business plans and create products or services to sell to their communities. 

The Waldorf School of Garden City students held a bake sale to learn first-hand about running a business and, as a class, they decided to use this money for charity donating $100 to Posh Pet Rescue, $250 to Women for Women International, $300 to True Colors United, and $450 to Long Island Cares and Smile Farms.
