Each year the Waldorf School of Bend embarks on a literal heart felt tradition on Valentine’s day. The school community lovingly handcrafts hearts, made of red felt, that are then stitched, stuffed and embroidered with positive messages of love.

Know as the “Heart Bomb” campaign, this community care event takes many volunteers numerous hours to decorate the sidewalks and doorways of downtown Bend’s commercial district. They spring from winter tree branches, shop doorways, and newspaper stands, hundreds of bright red hearts dangling in the breeze as passersby stop to admire the unique scene.
