In honor of Waldorf100, Tamarack Waldorf School students sewed and then filled backpacks for those in need as part of the Pathfinders Backpack Project.
During this year-long, school-wide project, 8th graders made the backpacks in their applied arts class this fall and each class in school contributed in some way through collecting donations, making items for the bag or helping with distribution.
The school partnered with Pathfinders, a local group that supports young people in crisis, including some who experience homelessness. Some of the donated items include felted soap, handmade journals, sewing kits, toothbrushes, socks and sanitary products.
