Whidbey Island Waldorf School opened their Spiral of Light to the public on Thursday December 15th. Participants brought their own lanterns or candles to place within the spiral during the two hour evening event.
Enrollment and Outreach Director Karina Bergen said, “As we pass through these weeks, we are moved toward a deeper understanding of our place in the universe, of all that supports us, and all that we aspire to as well as all that needs our care and protection.”
Many Waldorf schools observe Spiral of Light celebrations, which is a reverent tradition meant to announce the eventual return of the light and our inner light that radiates in the darkness. See different AWSNA Member school celebrations of Spiral of Light here on Facebook.
