On a stormy July night in West Kingston, RI, a lightning strike caused a devastating fire at the Meadowbrook Waldorf School. Their 15,000 sq. ft. school had been completed just over 10 years before on their 28-acre, forested campus.  Despite the best efforts of more than 200 firefighters from across Rhode Island and southeastern Connecticut, the building was declared a total loss.

The overwhelming response, however, was, as the school describes, “immediate and breathtaking.” Local, regional and Waldorf school communities from around the world, gave to the school’s fund for rebuilding. Now, that new building is complete and students have begun learning on campus!
