Opening Statement
Boulder Valley Waldorf School in Niwot, Colorado, has a current opening for an Early Childhood Assistant.
Opening is year-round including summer and some breaks. You can see our 2025-26 school year calendar on this site bvwaldorf.org. Afternoon positions work from 11:00 AM to 5:30 PM to support the transition from the morning program into nap, and then late afternoon activities. These positions pay $20-$25/hr pay ranges based on add-ons the applicant qualifies for. Boulder Valley Waldorf School is a Licensed Child Care Center. Candidates must be ECT certified per state of Colorado requirements. CPR, First Aid, Universal Precautions, and Medication Administration trainings required (can be completed after hire).

Boulder Valley Waldorf School was founded in 1993 and serves students from Pre-KG through Eighth Grade School. We are a full WECAN member and a Developing School on the path to AWSNA membership. Located in Niwot, Colorado, midway between Boulder and Longmont, the school is set on a five-acre campus within 38 acres of agricultural-zoned land, and features stunning views of the Rocky Mountains. This setting provides a wonderful rural atmosphere for festivals and community life, and sustains an enthusiastic community of experienced teachers, devoted, hard-working parents, and a healthy, energetic student body. In addition to Anthroposophical communities in Boulder and Denver, the Colorado Front Range area supports five elementary Waldorf Schools, three Waldorf high schools (two of which are in nearby Boulder), several independent Waldorf Kindergartens and numerous Waldorf home and day groups, plus a variety of Anthroposophical study groups and initiatives.
Essential Job Duties
- Support morning transition to afternoon
- Support Lead Teacher
- Attend Professional Development training
- Provide supervision on play yard and in classroom
- Provide support/supervision during lunch, naptime, after nap routine into extended care
Qualifications
- ECT qualified through Colorado’s PDIS
- 1st Aid/CPR preferred but not required
- Up to date on Colorado’s yearly required training courses
Employment Details
Position is 11:00-5:30, with a half hour lunch break. Pay dependent upon experience is $23-$25/hr. Must be available for summer and breaks.
