Job Category: Eurythmy, Lower School: Grades 1-5, and Middle School: Grades 6-8
Opening Statement
General Description
The San Francisco Waldorf Grade School Eurythmy Teacher joins a dedicated and collaborative faculty committed to bringing a rich, developmentally grounded Waldorf education to children from early childhood through middle school. This full-time position includes teaching eurythmy throughout the grade school and may also include a partial high school assignment, depending on the experience and interests of the successful candidate and the evolving needs of the school.
Our eurythmy program is a valued and visible part of school life. The teacher will work closely with class teachers, subject teachers, student support staff, and administration to support students’ healthy physical, emotional, social, and artistic development through movement, presence, rhythm, and relationship.
SFWS seeks a teacher who brings warmth, professionalism, flexibility, and enthusiasm to their work with children and colleagues alike. We value educators who are thoughtful observers of child development, committed to their own ongoing growth, and interested in contributing to a lively collegial culture. Class sizes generally range from approximately 14–23 students.
The position offers the opportunity to work within an experienced eurythmy department and a well-established Waldorf faculty while helping shape the future development of the program across the grade school and, potentially, the high school. The precise configuration of responsibilities will be developed collaboratively with the successful candidate.
