Part Time French Teacher
Opening Statement
The French Language Teacher at Trillium Waldorf School is responsible for lesson preparation and instruction for students in Grades 1 through 5, working within the framework of Waldorf education and curriculum. The teacher works collaboratively with class teachers and subject teachers and contributes to student assessment through written and oral reports.
About
Trillium Waldorf School is in its 31st year of operation and serves approximately 165 students from Kindergarten through Grade Eight on a 3-acre campus in Guelph, Ontario. Our program integrates academic, artistic, and outdoor education, supported by an experienced Faculty and strong mentoring culture.
Essential Job Duties
● Plan and deliver engaging French lessons aligned with Waldorf pedagogy
● Collaborate with class teachers and Faculty to support student development
● Prepare written reports and participate in parent communication as required
● Attend pedagogical meetings and section meetings
● Fulfill assigned supervisory duties, including recess coverage
● Contribute to the broader life of the school community
Qualifications
● Waldorf Teacher Education certification or demonstrated alignment with Waldorf pedagogy preferred
● Minimum Bachelor’s Degree and minimum two years teaching experience, or equivalent
● Strong communication and interpersonal skills
● Ability to engage students through songs, stories, and age-appropriate materials
● Effective classroom management skills
● Collaborative and community-oriented approach
● Current Vulnerable Sector Check and CPR–First Aid certification
Employment Details
Hourly compensation ranges from $25.24 – $31.03 and is determined based on experience and placement within the school’s salary grid. Compensation and employment conditions are administered in accordance with applicable Ontario employment standards legislation.
