Opening Statement

San Francisco Waldorf School seeks a Middle School Specialist  to join our Middle School faculty team in August 2025. 

San Francisco Waldorf School is seeking an educator to join our Middle School team, with the ability to teach math or language arts tracks, as well as art.. Depending on training and experience, the role may include leading 2-3 lesson blocks. This position will be based around the candidate’s strengths and will work in collaboration with Middle School class teachers.. Please reach out to us for further information.

About

San Francisco Waldorf School is an established early childhood through 12th grade school. The Grade School Campus is nestled in the City’s scenic Pacific Heights neighborhood. Our faculty circle enjoys a healthy balance of seasoned professional educators committed to Waldorf pedagogy working out of Anthroposophy. They are supported by an established circle of teachers, mentors, caring administrative staff, an educational support department, an active parent body, and a dedicated Board of Trustees. Our expanded curriculum in the grade school includes orchestral music, handwork, woodwork, physical education, gardening, eurythmy, and two foreign languages. The school is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and by the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA).

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Waldorf Teacher Training completed 
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • San Francisco Waldorf School does not provide employer sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Be able to occasionally lift 30 lbs.
  • Work intermittently in outside weather conditions, including heat and cold
  • Regularly sitting or standing 4-8 hours daily

Employment Details

Benefits and Compensation: 

This is a .75 – 1.0 FTE, full-time, position with full benefits including medical, dental, flexible spending plans, retirement plan (employer contributions after one year of employment), and tuition remission for eligible dependents in our Preschool – Grade 12 program (Staff fees apply).  The full annual salary range is $60K – $95K, depending on training and experience. It will be prorated for less than a full 1 FTE.  Salaries are paid on a 12-month schedule.
