Situated in the beautiful Sierra Nevada foothills, Sierra Waldorf School is fully accredited by AWSNA [Association of Waldorf Schools of North America] and WECAN [Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America], serving 130 students from early childhood through eighth grade. Essential Job Duties
Purpose and Scope of Job:
The grades class teacher is responsible for planning the daily, weekly and block rhythms of the year. These plans are developed in accordance with the principles of Waldorf pedagogy and in light of the needs of the class. The grades class teacher is also responsible for deepening their understanding of Anthroposophy, child development, and seeking out new materials for their teaching. Teachers commit to faculty responsibilities, including participation in weekly faculty meetings, grades mentoring group, and committee service.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have at least an undergraduate degree and completed Waldorf teacher training.
Employment Details
Benefits include: Base salary $43,680, additional compensation for bachelor’s degree, completed Waldorf teacher training, and Waldorf teaching experience; retirement plan, student remission and professional development opportunities.
