Opening Statement
The Waldorf School of Atlanta is seeking a Class Teacher for the 2027-28 school year. The class teacher works with a single grade in our grade school, ideally teaching the same group of students over multiple years. They teach the main lesson curriculum each day and hold the class through transitions and various skills classes throughout the day and week. They are the primary steward of the class’s academic and social development, working in close collaboration with colleagues, school leadership, student support staff, and parents in the class. Waldorf education offers its teachers the creative opportunity to bring the curriculum to life for their class through storytelling, music, movement, and artistic work. Our ideal candidate connects warmly with students, their families, and colleagues; engages creatively with Waldorf pedagogy to meet the students of today; and embodies a commitment to personal and professional growth.
Our experienced and creative faculty work closely with an active and dedicated Board of Trustees and a committed and talented parent community. An established Core Faculty with years of Waldorf experience share a strong commitment to studying and working with anthroposophy. Other anthroposophical initiatives in Atlanta include a branch of the Anthroposophical Society, a Christian Community congregation, and an Anthroposophical clinic that offers integrative health care. Atlanta is a vibrant city and a cultural beacon of the southeast region.

Our School and Community
Founded in 1986, the Waldorf School of Atlanta offers a Waldorf education to approximately 200 students, in a parent/child program for infants and toddlers, mixed age preschool and kindergarten classes, and grades 1-8. Our program includes a robust complement of weekly specialty classes in the grades, including Spanish, Eurythmy, Movement Education, Choral Music, Strings/Orchestra, Handwork, Woodwork, and Gardening. The school is fully accredited by regional and national accrediting bodies and is a full member of AWSNA WECAN, NAIS, and SAIS. Academe of the Oaks, our sister Waldorf High School, is just five minutes from our campus.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree is required, with Waldorf teacher training and classroom experience strongly preferred. We are seeking individuals who are committed to excellence in teaching, healthy parent/teacher relationships, self development, and collegial collaboration.
