Prairie Hill Waldorf School is seeking an immediate full-time Kindergarten Assistant to join our Early Childhood faculty. The ideal candidate is joyful, warm, and collaborative, with a deep appreciation for young children and a commitment to the principles of Waldorf education.
About the Role
The Kindergarten Assistant works closely with the Lead Kindergarten Teacher and the Early Childhood department to help create a nurturing, orderly, and beautiful learning environment. The hours are 7:30 am-4:00 pm Monday-Friday (30 minute unpaid break).

Our 14-acre campus features gardens, wetlands, and wooded areas and is located in Wisconsin’s Lake Country between Milwaukee and Madison. Essential Job Duties
Responsibilities Include:
• Classroom set up and clean up
• Supporting the lead teacher with the children during outdoor and indoor play and activities
• Assisting with lunch preparation and transitions
• Guiding children into bathroom and rest time through songs, stories, and gentle care
• Supporting children as they rise and clean up after rest time
• Attending weekly Early Childhood mentor meetings and monthly department meetings
Qualifications
Qualifications:
• Prior teaching or childcare experience required
• Waldorf training or certification strongly preferred
• Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills
• Ability and willingness to work collaboratively within a community environment
• Effective classroom management skills
• Enthusiasm for teaching, learning, and teamwork
Employment Details
Position Details:
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM (30-minute unpaid break)
