Opening Statement

Sacramento Waldorf School is seeking a thoughtful, engaging Fourth Grade Teacher to join our faculty for the 2026–27 school year, someone who enjoys guiding students at this important developmental stage, values collaboration with dedicated colleagues, and is inspired by the opportunity to grow alongside a class within a deeply rooted and thriving Waldorf community.

The rising fourth grade class is supported by an engaged parent community and students who are eager to deepen their learning, build confidence, and strengthen relationships as they grow.

The Fourth Grade Teacher is responsible for delivering a developmentally aligned Waldorf curriculum, including daily Main Lesson instruction, core academics, and integrated artistic activities such as storytelling, movement, music, and visual arts. The teacher fosters a rhythmical, supportive classroom environment that encourages confidence, curiosity, and growing independence, while differentiating instruction to meet the needs of students.

This position includes consistent communication with parents, collaboration with specialty teachers and Student Support, participation in faculty meetings, festivals, professional development, and community events, and upholding school policies and professional standards in support of Sacramento Waldorf School’s educational mission.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Waldorf Teacher Training or Waldorf Teacher Certification strongly preferred
  • Prior Waldorf class teaching experience highly desirable
  • Experience working with elementary or middle school–aged children required

Licenses & Certifications

  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Criminal Record Clearance
  • Mandated Reporter Training Certificate (AB 1207)
  • Health screening and TB clearance
  • Sexual Harassment Prevention Training
