First Grade Teacher 2026-2027
Opening Statement
Sacramento Waldorf School is seeking a warm, imaginative First Grade Teacher to join our faculty in Fall 2026 someone inspired by meaningful work with children, collaboration with dedicated colleagues, and the opportunity to teach within a deeply rooted and thriving Waldorf community.
The First Grade Teacher delivers a developmentally aligned Waldorf curriculum, including daily Main Lesson instruction, core academics, and integrated artistic activities such as storytelling, movement, music, and visual arts. The teacher creates a rhythmical, nurturing classroom environment and differentiates instruction to meet student needs.
The role includes consistent communication with parents; collaboration with specialty teachers and Student Support; participation in faculty meetings, festivals, professional development, and community events; and upholding school policies and professional standards in support of Sacramento Waldorf School’s educational mission.

Our students learn through movement, artistry, relationships, and meaningful academic work in a holistic, child-centered environment, supported by a strong specialty program including World Language, Handwork, Movement, Gardening, and Choir.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Waldorf Teacher Training or Waldorf Teacher Certification strongly preferred
- Prior Waldorf class teaching experience highly desirable
- Experience working with elementary or middle school–aged children required
Licenses & Certifications
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Criminal Record Clearance
- Mandated Reporter Training Certificate (AB 1207)
- Health screening and TB clearance
- Sexual Harassment Prevention Training
