Essential Job Duties
POSITION OVERVIEW
Marin Waldorf School is seeking a warm, organized, and collaborative Community Engagement Coordinator to join our team in a part-time role. This position serves as a key liaison between the school and its parent community, ensuring clear and consistent communication about curriculum, student learning goals and progress, and school events. The ideal candidate will help foster a strong, inclusive parent community through education, conversation, and relationship-building.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as a support point of contact for parents regarding curriculum updates, scope and sequence, learning objectives, and student progress.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between faculty, staff, and families.
- Organize and lead parent education events, workshops, and discussions to deepen understanding of Waldorf education.
- Build community engagement by supporting and coordinating parent-led initiatives and events.
- Maintain clear, timely, and professional communication through emails, and in-person meetings.
- Collaborate with the faculty to ensure consistency in messaging and support for student learning goals.
- Support new families in their integration into the school community.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build trusting relationships with parents, teachers, and staff.
- Experience in community engagement, education, or related fields.
- Understanding of or willingness to learn about Waldorf education.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Comfortable facilitating group discussions and community-building activities
- A warm, welcoming presence with a collaborative spirit.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience working in a school or educational setting.
- Prior experience as a Waldorf class teacher
- Familiarity with Waldorf philosophy and practices.
- Bilingual or multilingual skills is a plus.
Employment Details
HOURS & COMPENSATION
This is a half-time position (approximately 20 hours/week) to be performed on campus with some remote work. Compensation is commensurate with experience.
