Waldorf School of DuPage is seeking an experienced Waldorf teacher for our combined 2nd and 3rd grade. The class of 11 bright and engaged students, together with a dedicated group of parents and colleagues, is a thriving and well-supported group. Essential Job Duties

The 2nd and 3rd Grade Teacher would be responsible for the following areas:

  • Create and implement a comprehensive 2/3nd grade combined curriculum while also differentiating between the two groups where needed
  • Safely and effectively manage a classroom while accomplishing learning goals and objectives
  • Teach to a wide variety of individual learning styles and needs
  • Evaluate, track, and communicate student progress
  • Hold class meetings 2-3 times a year and host parent teacher conferences for this class
  • Lead collaborative efforts with subject teachers and student support staff
  • Collaborate with and contribute to the efforts of faculty, administration, and board 
  • Work closely with parents to support holistic child development and continuity between home and school
  • Confident using Google Workspace and able to learn and adapt to other digital tools
  • Participate in festival and community life of the school
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and work with assigned mentor 
  • Communicate effectively with adults and children

Qualifications

  • Completion or near completion of Waldorf Teacher Training certificate from AWSNA affiliated institute
  • Bachelors degree
  • Four or more years of lead teaching experience
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism
  • Experience with differentiated instruction and working with learning differences

Employment Details

Salary range: $46,000 – $54,000
