Opening Statement
The Waldorf School of Baltimore seeks full-time First and Third Grade Class Teachers to join our vibrant faculty. This position offers the opportunity to teach a class of students through the Waldorf curriculum within a supportive community dedicated to Waldorf Education. We are looking for a teacher who can bring warmth, creativity, and strong classroom leadership, while fostering an atmosphere of respect, kindness, and curiosity.
About
Founded in 1971, the Waldorf School of Baltimore is dually accredited by AWSNA and the Association of Maryland Independent Schools (AIMS). We serve children from Pre-K (2.5+) through Grade 8. Our Children’s Garden includes Baltimore City’s only Forest Kindergarten program and reflects our school-wide commitment to nature-rich, hands-on education. Our beautiful hillside campus in northwest Baltimore City includes woodlands, open fields, and garden spaces and is adjacent to the Cylburn Arboretum. We are housed in a purpose-built facility overlooking the city and are proud to be a MAEOE Certified Sustainable Green School and a U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon School.

Essential Job Duties
Class Teachers are responsible for planning and teaching Main Lesson blocks, language arts, math, and other core subjects as appropriate to the grade. They also integrate the arts, direct class plays, guide field trips and class activities, and engage with the rich seasonal festivals that form part of the Waldorf tradition. Collaboration with subject teachers, families, and colleagues is an essential part of the role.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will bring strong interpersonal and organizational skills, a love of working with children, and a willingness to deepen their understanding of Waldorf education. Previous classroom experience and Waldorf training are highly valued, though not required. The school provides mentoring and professional development opportunities, including Waldorf teacher training.

• Waldorf trained or willing to enroll in Waldorf training
