New Leaders Academy

Lead Facilitator: Kim Richardson

New Leaders Academy is a full-year, university-level leadership development course, held from July 2026 to May 2027, and designed to support emerging and mid-career leaders in cultivating grounded, resilient, and adaptive leadership practices.

The course includes:

• Twice-monthly, 2-hour virtual sessions (August – May)
• A 4-day in-person immersive experience in July, providing intensive experiential learning, peer collaboration, and applied leadership practice

Through this combination, participants explore leadership as both an inward discipline and a relational, community-centered practice.​

Learning Design
Virtual Instruction (2 hours, twice monthly)
● Interactive sessions blending leadership frameworks, reflection, and applied exercises
● Regular opportunities for peer discussion and collaborative problem-solving
● Note: No virtual sessions will be held during June

New Leaders Retreat in July 10-12, 2026

● Immersive workshops, applied leadership challenges, and cohort-building activities

● Deep integration of embodied learning, reflection, and leadership practice, Independent Learning
● Curated readings and reflective writing connecting personal experience with leadership theory
● Practical assignments encouraging observation, self-discovery, and method internalization Curriculum Development
● Custom design aligned with Great Lakes Waldorf Institute’s leadership and pedagogical principles
● Integration of systems thinking, reflective practice, and values-driven leadership
