For centuries, shadow puppetry has been a part of storytelling tradition in many cultures throughout the world.  However, today we are being challenged to create new stories that can stimulate the children’s imagination: a crucial and essential human capacity. Come our workshop with master shadow puppeteer Cindy Sydow and learn how colored shadow puppets can become a new “feather in our cap” and can make a valuable contribution to your school’s curriculum, your professional practice, and to lives the children in your community.

Cost of each course is $25 for WAPASA members, $35 for non-members.  Group and school discounts are available, please reach out to WAPASA for more information.

Due to the active, participatory nature of the workshop, a materials list will be sent out upon registration.

During the workshop participants will create their own color transparency scenery, puppets, and experiments with puppet position for dramatic effect and lighting. There will be ample time for questions, comments and sharing of insights to make sure that participants feel confident in their new skills.
