The Rudolf Steiner School is hiring a full-time faculty member to teach science and mathematics courses to grades 7-12 in the Upper School.

Essential Job Duties
Strong candidates will have mathematics and science teaching experience with an emphasis in chemistry, ideally in a Waldorf school and in the grades listed above. As members of the Upper School faculty, teachers have the opportunity to collaborate with one another on a daily basis both in the departmental area and throughout the school community.
In addition to teaching, full time faculty are asked to mentor students, chaperone trips and events, and bring their gifts and interests to the students and the school community. Rudolf Steiner School seeks candidates who wish to innovate toward math and science curricula of the future, informed by the values that guide the pedagogy of Waldorf schools.
Responsibilities for this position include:
- All aspects of preparing lessons, teaching, and assessing student work.
- Regular and timely communication with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Participation in regular meetings, periodic special events, and occasional class trips.
Qualifications
In addition to experience in disciplines mentioned above, basic requirements for candidacy are a Bachelor’s degree in a pertinent field (Master’s or higher preferred) and appreciative interest in Waldorf education. Rudolf Steiner School looks for colleagues who love what they teach but also wish to expand and diversify what they are able to offer; equally essential is an interest in how young people learn (in and out of school) over a number of years.
Employment Details
Salary Range: $55,000 to $80,000
Start date: August 24, 2026
