Parent-Child Teacher
Opening Statement
Asheville Waldorf School is seeking a Parent-Child Teacher to join our Faculty for the 2025–2026 school year. The Parent-Child Teacher holds weekly classes with parents/caregivers and their young children. This role focuses especially on the needs of birth to three years olds and the unique developmental needs of the first three years of life. This is a part-time position.
About
Asheville Waldorf School was incorporated in 2010, became an associate member of the Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America (WECAN) in 2017, and joined the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA) as an associate member in 2018. Our organization consists of a cohesive and striving Faculty, a Board of Directors that draws members from both the Parent body and the community, a committed Administration, and a loving and involved community of parents and families.
Asheville is an ideal place to live, well known and visited for its beautiful outdoors (it is surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains and three National Forests, and at the confluence of two major rivers), its abundance of activity options that come with the landscape and ecosystem, and its rich arts, crafts, and music culture. Asheville’s many restaurants and microbreweries make it a highly sought-after tourist destination. Local, sustainable agriculture is also a hallmark of this town, which supports seventeen farmers’ markets for less than 100,000 residents. If you like to eat local organic food, participate in public music events (like community chorus), and be immersed in the arts, it is a great place where you will be warmly welcomed.
