Marketing Assistant (Part-Time)
Opening Statement
City of Lakes Waldorf School seeks a creative and tech-savvy Marketing Assistant to join our Advancement Team. The Marketing Assistant is responsible for supporting the Communications and Marketing Director in articulating and promoting CLWS’s values, mission, and identity across all platforms, as well as supporting several school events each year.
About
Now in its 36th year, City of Lakes Waldorf School is a toddler through 8th grade private school founded in 1989. CLWS offers a vibrant Waldorf curriculum including string ensemble, handwork, practical arts, Spanish, movement, and circus. The school’s current enrollment is 225 students.
City of Lakes’ historic urban campus is located in the thriving Eat Street neighborhood just south of downtown Minneapolis, a short walk from Fair Oaks Park, the Children’s Theater, and the world-renowned Minneapolis Institute of Arts.

Essential Job Duties
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and innovative communicator—someone who enjoys crafting compelling messages, capturing meaningful moments, and engaging diverse audiences. The ideal candidate is a strong writer and visual storyteller with solid photography and design skills, a keen aesthetic eye, and a strong understanding of digital marketing tools and trends.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field and at least two years of professional experience. Excellent writing and editing skills are essential, along with expertise in social media management, photography and video production, and graphic design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and enjoys working both independently and as part of a small team. Familiarity with Waldorf education is a plus but not required.
Employment Details
The position is a part-time hourly position with a potential pay range of $20-25 / hour.
