Portland Waldorf School was founded in 1982 and is fully accredited through AWSNA. We serve over 300 students from early childhood through grade twelve on a beautiful seven-acre campus in downtown Milwaukie, just 20 minutes from downtown Portland.

Essential Job Duties
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Accounting – accounts payable; donations; 1099s; journal entries
- School Store/Auxiliary programs accounting and reconciliation
- Filing, data entry, running reports; general office assistance
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associates degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent education and life experience
- 1-2 years of experience working in a non-profit, independent school business office
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and networking in the realm of non-profit, independent school accounting
- Fluency in non-profit accounting, Microsoft Excel, Google applications, and the Blackbaud database system with meticulous attention to detail
- Must be able to follow instructions, maintain filing systems meeting non-profit and tax audit obligations, and hold a high level of confidentiality.
- Ability to receive and organize large quantities of emails, receipts, and paperwork in both physical and digital formats, in a manner accessible to Business Office workflow.
- Friendly, resourceful, and motivated – a “self-starter” with welcoming energy, enthusiasm, tact, and exemplary work ethic
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for meetings and school events as needed
Employment Details
This is a part-time, year-round, on-site, non-exempt, hourly position, with a pay rate of $20.00 per hour for 20 hours per week (work hours are flexible between 9:00am and 3:00pm Monday through Friday). Benefits offered include paid sick time per Oregon Sick Leave law.
