Opening Statement

Pasadena Waldorf School (PWS) is seeking an EC Camp Assistant for our seasonal break camps. This role will support the Lead Camp Instructor in supervising 5-26 campers from preschool and kindergarten in both indoor and outdoor play, snacks/meals, story time, and nap time. They will work alongside another EC Camp Assistant, and both will receive instructions and guidance from the Lead Camp Instructor. All camp positions report to and will receive on-site support from the Out-of-School Programs Coordinator.

Essential Job Duties

Key Responsibilities:

· Work in a developmentally appropriate way with the social/emotional health of individual campers and the camp group.
· Support both indoor and outdoor class activities in a variety of settings that incorporate free play, artistic and practical work, nature exploration, care for our surroundings, physical, and social development.
· Promote an inclusive, supportive, and respectful camp environment and community.
· Maintain the safety and wellbeing of campers and follow proper safety protocols and procedures.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
· Background check clearance required.
· High School diploma or GED required, bachelor’s degree preferred, commensurate work experience considered.
· Early childhood basic care course credits required (institution may vary).
· Pediatric and adult first aid/CPR certification required.
· 1 year of teaching experience (preschool or kindergarten) preferred.
· Punctuality and ability to follow a set daily schedule.
· Adherence to the policies and procedures outlined in the PWS Employee Handbook 2024-2025.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work collaboratively with the Lead Camp Instructor and the Out-of-School Programs Coordinator, take initiative, and represent the School in a professional manner.

Employment Details

Compensation and Daily Schedule:
· This is a seasonal, non-exempt/hourly position working 32.5 hours per week.
· This position is ineligible for benefits.
· Pay rate: $19.57 per hour.
· Daily schedule: Monday through Friday from 8:30AM-3:30PM, with a 30-minute unpaid meal break.
· End time may vary depending on camper dismissal, classroom clean-up, and prep-time for the next workday.
