Admissions Director (Temporary)
Opening Statement
Summerfield Waldorf School and Farm is seeking a temporary full-time Admissions Director to cover a leave of absence. The position is expected to last approximately five to six months, from mid-August 2025 to early February 2026. The temporary Admissions Director will maintain the visibility and awareness of Summerfield Waldorf School and Farm in the broader community while implementing established enrollment strategies. This role manages the complete enrollment process and serves as the primary contact for prospective families.

Summerfield Waldorf School & Farm serves nearly 300 students from five different counties north of the San Francisco Bay in Preschool- G12. A highly committed and experienced faculty is supported by a long-tenured and efficient Operational Staff and active Board of Directors. Summerfield Waldorf School & Farm also enjoys an enthusiastic and generous parent community.
Our beautiful 38-acre campus is located in beautiful Sonoma County, just 60 miles north of San Francisco and is bordered by commercial farms, vineyards, and a natural creek/wildlife area. In addition to the school’s educational facilities, a 7-acre Demeter Certified Biodynamic® farm and wildlife preserve are located on the campus. We enjoy an idyllic Mediterranean climate, with springtime fields of wildflowers, hot summers cooled at night by ocean fog, rich autumn light on vibrant harvest colors, and wet, green winters.
Essential Job Duties
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Outreach
- In coordination with Marketing, creates promotional material: brochures, informational packet material, event postcards, flyers, web material, in consultation with the school Core Groups.
- Works with the Marketing Director to develop and oversee the marketing plan including social media and online advertising.
- Develops and reviews information packets, welcome packets, and communication with prospective parents.
- In coordination with Marketing and the Board of Directors, oversees, develops and implements advertising strategy for school and events.
- Organizes and facilitates outreach events including but not limited to: Walk the Grades, Early Childhood outreach events and other school visits.
- With Marketing, creates specific strategies to target specific economic and ethnic groups.
- Identifies trends in enrollment and communicates them to the Director and Board of Directors.
Liaison between Families and Faculty Members
- Meets with prospective families.
- Conducts campus tours.
- Oversees interview timeline and registration process between families and teachers.
- Responds to all inquiries, (phone, web, mail,) with a follow up phone call or email.
- Organizes and facilitates the New Parent Orientation.
- Conducts exit interviews.
Consult with Registrar
- Composes and signs letters re: admissions and registration.
- Consults on space in grades (Preschool-12).
- Consults on reports to the Board of Directors.
- Consults on inter-office forms for tracking applications, inquiries, etc.
- Consults on all communications with prospective parents and current parents.
Qualifications
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Marketing and/or outreach experience preferred.
- Overall computer literacy is a must- this position requires knowledge of myriad computer programs.
- Must be personable, friendly, and willing to collaborate with all sections of the school and new families.
Physical Requirements:
Employees must have the ability to:
- Sit for extended periods of time;
- Enter data into a computer terminal and operate standard office equipment for extended periods of time;
- Read a computer screen and printed matter with or without vision aids;
- Speak at normal levels so that others may understand, in person and on the telephone;
- Hear and understand at normal levels, in person and on the telephone, with or without hearing aids;
- Stand and walk on hard and uneven surfaces for extended periods of time and lengths;
- Squat, stoop and/or bend over;
- Reach overhead, grasp, push/pull up to 35 pounds for short distances;
- Lift and carry up to 45 lbs. at waist height for short distances.

Employment Details
Employment details: This is a full-time, 40 hours per week, temporary (5-6 months) at-will position; Monday through Friday, plus evening and weekend meetings and events as appropriate during the school year.
Compensation and Benefits: Compensation ranges from $33.00 to $37.50 per hour (equivalent to $69-$78K annualized), commensurate with experience and qualifications. We offer excellent medical and dental coverage (est. coverage: 9/1/25-2/28/26) and a 401(k) retirement plan.
