Opening Statement

The Waldorf School of Baltimore seeks a passionate and dedicated Class Teacher to join our vibrant learning community. This full-time teaching position offers a unique opportunity to guide students through a rich, developmentally appropriate curriculum grounded in the philosophy and pedagogy of Waldorf education.

The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic educator who fosters a classroom atmosphere of curiosity, cooperation, kindness, and respect. They will be responsible for delivering Main Lesson Blocks, teaching language arts and math (and other classes depending on grade level), coordinating with subject teachers, supervising class routines and field trips, and maintaining open, consistent communication with parents.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Strong classroom management and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to develop artistic abilities and deepen understanding of anthroposophy

Essential Job Duties

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Plan and teach Waldorf Main Lesson Blocks and skills classes
  • Support the artistic and academic development of students
  • Manage a clean, orderly, and engaging classroom environment
  • Coordinate class activities, field trips, festivals, and performances
  • Maintain student records, assessments, and progress reports
  • Foster strong partnerships with families through regular updates and conferences
  • Participate in faculty meetings, outreach events, and school-wide activities
  • Engage in ongoing professional development, including Waldorf training

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Prior classroom teaching experience
  • Waldorf teaching experience or Waldorf teacher training (completed or in progress)

Employment Details

The salary range for this position is $46K-$65K.

Benefits include 85% of healthcare costs & 85% remission as well as some additional life insurance and retirement contributions.
